A generous oval banded agate brooch, sweeping amber, rust and cream tones shifting beautifully as the light moves across the stone. The open Rococo-style gilt frame with C-scroll gives it real presence, and the unusually long pin was purpose-built to anchor through the heavier fabrics of a Victorian overcoat or travelling cape.

Good antique condition with honest age-appropriate wear throughout. The stone is polished with minor surface marks visible under close inspection and one small chip, and the gilding is heavily worn on the reverse with base metal exposed across most of the back surface. The C-catch and long straight pin are original, intact and functional.
