A genuinely striking Victorian to Edwardian goofus glass brooch, a cold-painted composition of purple and white pansies with scattered buds beneath a convex glass dome, framed by a twisted rope-effect border. The painted decoration retains lovely colour, though the characteristic metallic backing has degraded with age as is typical of this technique.
