This sterling silver card case has that dense, absorbing kind of engraving where every inch works for its living, floral panels wrapped in bands of fern like foliage right out to the scalloped edge. A blank cartouche waits for initials that were apparently never added and the whole thing folds open on a neat little hinge dated all the way back to 1882.

Condition & Measurements

The case is in good antique condition with crisp well defined engraving to the front and reverse and light rubbing to the raised edges consistent with age. The hinge opens and closes smoothly and the vacant cartouche shows only faint surface marks.

There are slight and mild denting in a few of the edges but they're faint and hard to see. A fine example with stunning workmanship.
