A striking Victorian shell cameo depicting Aurora, Goddess of the Dawn, driving a two-horse biga across stylised clouds, the natural shell layers giving crisp white relief against a warm brownish-pink ground. Set in a scalloped gold tone wirework frame with an original safety chain, it's a well-preserved example of the Grand Tour style so favoured by Victorian travellers.
