A large and exceptional Victorian botanical brooch, the original dried flowers preserved beneath a high-domed glass in a richly gilt brass frame that carries a weight and presence rarely found in pieces of this type. A fine example of the Language of Flowers tradition at its most affecting, the botanical display remarkably intact for its age.

Exceptional antique condition for a piece of this age; the dried flowers remain in their original arrangement without excessive shedding, the gilt brass frame retains its warm tone with only light tarnishing to the reverse, and the domed glass is clear and secure. The C-clasp pin is sturdy and fits well.
