A highly collectable sterling silver pendant by Scottish silversmith Malcolm Grey, the substantial St Magnus Cross design deeply struck with the geometric pattern inspired by 13th-century Orkney sandstone carvings. Fully hallmarked for Edinburgh 1985 and suspended from a sturdy curb chain, it's a fine example of the Scottish Celtic revival at its best.
Good pre-owned condition; the silver has a wonderful weight and a bright, polished finish with some mild tarnishing. The geometric pattern is deeply struck and crisp, the hallmark is clear and legible, and the curb chain and clasp are sturdy and in full working order.
